The Electric Bolt Spell is only available to those Mage who have
graduated from the Citadel. The
Spell causes a bolt of pure electricity, similar to a miniature lightning bolt,
to fly from the caster’s fingertips and strike at whatever target they have
chosen.
The Bolt
does 7 points of damage to the first thing that it strikes.
If the casting Mage chooses another person as the target, they do not
need to be able to see flesh, the Electric Bolt will strike the person through
the clothing or even armour that they might be wearing.
The
Electric Bolt Spell is completely negated by the Magic Shield Spell.
Crastoth
leaned casually against the battlements of Lord Hardey’s castle and looked out
over the besieging army.
“You could have a slight problem
here,” he said to Hardey.
“I employ you to deal with these
‘Slight Problems’,” replied Lord Hardey.
“I trust you will be able to do so!”
Crastoth didn’t reply to this
statement but he clearly heard the unspoken threat in the words.
Either deal with this problem or else!
From his high vantage point, the Mage could see that there were easily
500 soldiers in the army, possibly more and they looked to be quite prepared to
lay siege for months, if need be.
The Mage could just see the elaborate
tent that no doubt was home to the generals and leaders of the attacking army
and he had been waiting patiently for hours for the occupants to show
themselves. At last his patience
was rewarded and two figures stepped out of the tent.
Crastoth could not make out any details at this distance but he knew that
they would be blinking in the bright sun light.
Lord Hardey was saying something but
the Mage ignored him and began to chant the words to the Electric Bolt Spell.
Moments later, a shimmering Bolt of crackling electricity shot from his
outspread fingers and flew through the air over the besieging army.
As soon as the first Bolt had left his hand, Crastoth began the Spell to
cast the second one.
Within seconds of each other, the two
Electric Bolts slammed into their targets.
First one and then the other of the generals were flung backwards and
screamed as the power of lightning tore through their dead or dying bodies. It was too far away for Crastoth to see exactly what had
happened but he didn’t need to.
“Problem solved, my Lord,” he
said as he walked past Hardey, back into the security of the castle.
