XP COST TO LEARN | 15 |
With this Spell, the Mage is able to create a light that is roughly
equivalent to that given from a lantern. The
Magical light will spring from any substance that the casting Mage touches;
rocks, coins, a staff, even thin air, and will remain for one hour.
If the
Light Spell is cast on a portable object, the light given off will move as the
object moves. At higher levels, the
Spell’s duration is increased, as is the volume of the light given off.
This
Spell can be used to blind an opponent if it is cast on their eyes, but the Mage
has to be touching the creature’s eyes when the Spell is cast.
It is possible for this to happen, but it is a rare use of the Spell.
Stumbling back to his room after a night of drunken revelry,
Jerome fell over a chair that was hidden in the darkness of the room.
Cursing to himself, the intoxicated Mage groped around for a lantern or a
candle.
Finding
nothing, he pulled himself upright and made a determined effort to sober up. This was spoiled slightly by the stupid grin on his face and
the vomit stains down the front of his robe.
“Light,”
he slurred. “Need light.”
By
some miracle, the young Mage remembered the words necessary to the Spell and
even managed to get the hand gestures correct.
Light sprang from the tips of his fingers and illuminated the room.
With a happy smile, Jerome staggered off to bed and collapsed onto it.
His only problem now was how to turn the Light off again.
