Description

Graceful yet deadly The Blessed are instantly noticeable on the battlefield.  The Blessed are dressed typically in black and fight with mesmerising beautiful blows that conceal the deadly purpose behind them.
     All of the members of house Sar’Donnath go through a period serving in The Blessed resulting in all of the full members of the House moving with a supple grace in combat.
     Members of The Blessed who show particular talents go on to become one of the elite Blessed known as The Calmed. These troops make even the Blessed look like flailing incompetents, The Calmed work with their combatants steering them towards the next life. The deathly dance is a disturbing site to behold.
     The Calmed can be recognised by a red marker usually a sash or bandanna.

Society
The Blessed are typically formed into groups of about twenty to thirty warriors with about one third being new recruits under instruction from the Calmed.
Each unit will have a Captain who commands it, some units will also contain a Sergeant to as an advisor and to deal with troop related problems on and individual basis. Larger, better-established formations will have a standard bearer and a champion.
Formations of the Blessed are very loyal to each other and will always cover each other in combat. They enjoy the company of all the specialised units supporting, recognising the useful skills that they may provide to supplement the force. Stillwalkers are even welcomed, when they choose to talk to the troops.

Combat

As The Blessed make up the largest of the units in House Sar’Donnath they are the most flexible of the troops available and are able to perform in a number of roles. Most of the more specialised units work in a support role to the Blessed.
Although specifically a light skirmish force the Blessed are able to form stalwart shield walls when the needs arise. Typically they stay mobile in a large controlled formation moving forward and striking at weak points systematically.
In individual combat each of the Blessed shows stylish flare when dispatching a foe, this beauty is a distraction to disguise the deadly intent behind the weapons of these warriors.

History
Historically the Blessed are the oldest force in House Sar’Donnath being the first people to be specifically trained to fight.
The Blessed have gained the most honours as sect within the Dar’Kath due to them being the backbone of almost every campaign in the Houses History.
Most other groups of the Dar’Kath, Stormwards and Feybane included were formed from units of the Blessed that showed special adeptness at specific aspects of combat. Because of this and the fact that all troops serve time within the Blessed all members of the Dar’Kath have a fondness of the Blessed and will often reminisce about their tour of duty with the new recruits within the Blessed.
